Patriot One Technologies has obtained a near $1 million contract with Canada’s Department of National Defence to further develop an artificial intelligence enabled full motion video analytics platform.

Patriot one says this technology will be used to detect, classify and track objects and events of interest first for DND purposes but for use in other domains in the future.

The AI development arm of Patriot One otherwise known as Xtract AI, is in the process of developing RECCE — the name given to the new video analytics platform. Xtract AI is scheduled to deliver their AI-powered video-analytics solution by the end of March.

“While RECCE will first be used by the Canadian government for specific projects, such as military applications and the detection, identification and tracking of objects of interest or concern, the opportunity-space for this type of AI is unlimited,” said Cornell Pich, vice president of Strategic Partnerships and Technology at Patriot One in a statement.
